  • This is a bumper pack of 7 tutorials, enabling you to make some of the basic components in jewellery making. Included in this pack are also instructions for a Lariat necklace and a multi strand bracelet, using some of the components that you have learned to make.

    Figure of 8 Chain: Level Easy, 10 steps, 7 pages

    This tutorial shows you how to make a simple figure of 8 chain that is ideal for using up all those little off cuts of 18 and 20 gauge wire. You can use round, half round or square wire, or a mixture to create a pattern in your chain.
    The links can be used on their own, as an alternative to jump rings as they are very strong, or connected together to form a chain

    Material List:
    18 and/or 20 gauge wire
    3” of wire will give you approx. 1” of chain
    Clasp of your choice (optional)

    Ruler/tape measure
    Nylon jaw pliers (optional – for straightening the wire)


    Ornate Multi Strand Component: Level Intermediate, 30 steps, 12 pages

    This Tutorial teaches you to make an ornate multi strand necklace or chandelier earring component. Made simply from wire and tiny silver beads it will beautifully complement and enhance any piece of jewellery. This component is ¾” high and ¾” wide

    8” 20 gauge soft round wire
    85” 28 gauge soft round wire
    7 1mm silver round beads

    3 Hole Spacer Bead: Level Intermediate, 30 steps, 12 pages

    n this lesson you will learn to make this beautiful multi stand spacer bead, it compliments perfectly my ‘Ornate multi strand component’ and would be a stunning addition to any bracelet or necklace. This component is 1” tall and has three holes but it could easily be adapted to any size or as many holes as you want.

    Material List:
    58” of 28 gauge Soft round Wire
    10” of 20 gauge Round soft or Half Hard Wire
    16 2mm round beads

    Coiled Earwires: Level Beginner, 11 steps, 5 pages

    This tutorial will show you how to make these earwires that are the perfect addition to any earring, particularly ornate designs.

    The beauty of making these yourself is that you can co-ordinate them with your earring design, by substituting the silver beads with colours or stones that match.

    The material list is for a pair of earwires.

    Spiral Bead Unit: Level Beginner, 10 steps, 5 pages

    This Tutorial shows you how to make a versatile spiral bead unit. It is easy to make and has many uses, you could simply hang it on a chain for a stylish necklace or use it as part of a more complicated piece of jewellery.
    Wire spirals have many uses, from a pretty way to finish wire ends to creating a bezel to hold a stone in place. Once you have mastered it the possibilities will be endless!

    Material List:
    1 14-15mm bead
    5 inches 20 gauge soft wire

    Coiled beads and Ring (includes instructions for Lariat necklace): Level Easy, 37 steps, 18 pages

    This tutorial teaches you how to make a Lariat style necklace. It is split into three sections. The first covers making the coiled beads, (which could be used as part of any design) they are incredibly quick to make with an eye catching result. The second guides you through making the wire ring and the final section details how to construct this sleek and stylish necklace.
    I have used seed beads as part of this design, but this is only a suggestion, you can use any beads you like, as long as the three strands fit through the ring.

    The materials list is for the complete 26" necklace (including 1 ring 1” wide and 1 ¾” loop to loop and 6 coiled wire beads measuring 2/3”).

    6” 18 gauge half hard round wire
    36” 20 gauge soft or half hard round wire
    122” 24 gauge half hard round wire
    96” nylon coated flexible beading wire
    6 crimp beads (suitable size for your beading wire)
    6 2.5mm round silver beads

    Multi Strand Bracelet: Level Easy, 25 steps, 11 pages

    In this lesson you will learn to make this three strand flexible bracelet. It is made with my ‘Ornate multi strand component’ and my ‘Ornate three hole spacer’ but you could use bought versions if you prefer. The materials list details the beads I have used, but you could use any beads of your choice – as long as they are not too wide. The bracelet is 7 1/2" long and 1" wide.

    2 ornate multi strand components

    1 Lobster clasp
    2 oval jump rings
    44 2mm round beads
    18 6mm round beads
    18 6mm oval beads
    5 9mm oval beads (not more than 4mm wide)
    4 9mm oblong beads (note more than 6mm wide)
    6 #1 crimp beads
    27” Nylon coated flexible beading wire (tiger tail or similar)
