This Viking knit draw plate I have made from Sapele wood. It is hand cut, shaped and sanded then drilled out with 11 holes! It is cut from a solid piece of wood for strength and has been finished using 2 coats of Danish wood oil for protection from moisture and to bring out the warm natural colour of this gorgeous wood. The plate comes with 4 x pine mandrels for various size options.
The overall plate size is -
Length inc handle - 21.7cm or 8 9/16"
Width - 7.3cm or 2 7/8"
Thickness - 2.4cm or 1"
Handle length - 9.8cm or 3 7/8"
Mandrel sizes are -
8mm or 5/16" diameter
11mm or 7/16" diameter
15mm or 5/8" diameter
18mm or 3/4" diameter
All 110mm or 4 3/8" in length and made from pine.
Plate hole sizes are -
4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 15, 16 and 19mm
Woods -
Plate - Sapele - Entandrophragma cylindricum - hard wood
Mandrels - pine - pinus radiata - soft wood
