This design is inspired by those delicate remains of leaves from the previous year that you find in your flower beds in the spring.

In this lesson, I teach you a technique which captures the tapered central and horizontal veins as well as a method to create the subtle criss cross pattern. this tutorial covers several versatile techniques, including:

Weaving
Coiling
Binding
Creating a tapered line in wire
Netting
Birds nest setting for beads


The finished pendant is 1 ¾” tall including the bail and 7/8” at it’s widest point.


Materials:

• 8” 18 gauge soft or half hard round wire
• 60” 24 gauge soft round wire
• 100” 28 gauge soft or half hard round wire
• 5 x 4mm round beads


Tools:

• Chain nose pliers
• Round nose pliers
• Wire cutters
• Flat nose pliers
• Nylon jaw pliers
• Pin/Needle
• Ring mandrel
• 3mm mandrel (knotting needle, wooden dowel, pen or similar)
• Tape measure/ruler
