My Book

In stock now!

The idea for writing this book seemed to me like a natural progression from the writing of individual tutorials. It allows me to place the various skill levels in order, offering a starting platform for the complete novice, through to the more advanced levels, as well as giving ideas for more experienced wireworkers to develop their existing abilities. The book offers a step-by-step guide to getting started, there are 24 full projects, explined in detail, with LOTS of close up colour photograghy for each step. The designs range from easy right through to a very advanced 3D orchid. Also included in the book are 11 findings, ranging from earwires and clasps to brooch pins.

The book has been published by The Guild of Mastercraftsmen (GMC) who have been a pleasure to work with!

It will be avaliable through all the normal chanels (Online and highstreet book shops), or you can order your copy now and receive a book signed by the author, with a personalised message too!!!

Hello, my daughter - Jade Adams - bought me a Viking Knit kit.  It arrived today & it is beautiful, the wire is lovely but the drawplate is so lovely, has a wonderful artisan feel and smell.  Truly lovely. Hope to do it & the craftsman justice. Will make more purchases later   :-D    Thank you, Jenny Emblin.

Abby, absolutely love your book. The instructions and photos are top notch. I’ve already made a number of things as gifts and for myself. Just one question…The vortex ring has me stumped. I can’t see how to thread the two wires through so that they exit the bead on opposite sides in order to do the wrap. I’m sure it’s something simple, but I’ve tried dozens of times and it’s just not clicking. Can anyone help? I’d love to make this ring!

    Hi Agnes

I am so pleased to hear how much you are enjoying the book!!

With the vortex ring, form the shank on the mandrel, as described in step 4, this will leave you with 2 straight wires, pointing in opposite directions on the top of the mandrel. In step 5, carefully lift both straight wires, making sure you do not distort the shape of the shank. Thread both wire ends through the bead, so that they pass through the bead in opposite directions, this will take a little bit of careful jiggling, to make sure the shank remains straight and that the bead sits on top of it. Now continue on with step 6.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Best wishes
